About 30 Bays in 30 Days 2024

You can now sign up for our exciting summer challenge where we encourage you to explore and enjoy 30 different bays in the month of July.

We want you to swim, paddleboard, kayak, surf – or anything else you can think of! The challenge is open to people of all ages who want to get outdoors and take advantage of our stunning beaches, while raising money for two local charities – Jersey Hospice Care and the National Trust for Jersey.

We encourage all those registered to start the challenge on 1 July and complete a minimum of 30 strokes, 30 times in bays local to them. Participants can pick their favourite bays or if they want an extra challenge, can attempt all 30 during the month of July. Participants may carry on in August to complete as many bays as they have challenged themselves to complete!

We will be holding an opening swim on Sunday 30 June at 11:30. Our closing swim will be held on Wednesday 31 July at 17:30. Both will be held at Greve De Lecq this year.

Participants will receive a 30 Bays poster map and sticker chart for younger swimmers, and the first 200 to sign up will receive a 30 Bays swim hat.

About The Charities

This fundraising page benefits the following charities:

Jersey Hospice Care (Deprecated)

Jersey Hospice Care offers specialist palliative care to patients with any life limiting illness. Our aim is that patients are enabled to live the remainder of their lives to the full, to remain at home if they wish and to die with dignity where they choose. Our care is about so much more than the specialist palliative treatment of a person's physical symptoms. It's a total philosophy of care, offering spiritual and emotional support that extends to family members and carers. For each person we are privileged to care for, we only get one chance at the end of life to get it right and that's why we strive every day to go that extra mile for our patients and their families, to make extraordinary care our 'ordinary'. Helping each person we care for to get the best out of every day and to make each day count.

It costs £5,977,600 million each year to maintain our services, yet all of our services to patients and families remain free of charge. We rely on the support of fundraising by the community, local companies, and trusts and the income from our retail shops to enable us to continue caring for patients coming to terms with a life-limiting condition and to support their families and loved ones.

National Trust for Jersey

With its dramatic coastline, rich marine environment, distinctive vernacular architecture, and hedge lined country lanes, Jersey retains a strong sense of place, identity and above all beauty. However, its rural character, ecology, and built heritage remains threatened, possibly more than at any other time. This is due to unsuitable development, creeping urbanisation, unsustainable farming practices and short term economic policies. As a result, wildlife is in serious decline, the health of our environment is at risk, and tranquillity is becoming increasingly elusive.

The Trust seeks to champion and protect the distinctive qualities of Jersey so that it remains at the very heart of Island life. We will do this through vigilance, sustainable management and by promoting and increasing awareness of the value of our countryside and historic environment to our economy.
