About Jay's Aim Family Colour Run - Sun 8th Sep 10.30am

Jay's Aim Family Colour Run 2024 - Sunday 8th September at 10.30am

The ‘Jay’s Aim Family Colour Run 2024’ is a fun run for all the family set on a picturesque cross country course over farmland at Greendale Farm Shop.   The event is brought to you by Jay's Aim in conjunction with Greendale Farm Shop, Exeter.

Entrants will be able to choose from a 1k and 5k course each with 5 sponsored colour stations.  At each station you and your friends will be doused from head to toe in different coloured ‘holi’ powders!  Our colour stations have been kindly sponsored by Progressive Systems, Brewin Dolphin, ISCA Recruitment, Exeter Cathedral School, Mystery Shopper, Cornish Secrets, Shebbear College, Nutri-link, Claydon Builders, Wel Medical, and House of Marbles.

The cross country course is over private Greendale farm land with sections on both routes using the animal trail where you can say “hello” to Oscar the ostrich, Wally the wallaby, the Kunekune pigs, Highland cows and ducks and geese!  The course is uneven in places and is likely to be wet and muddy, so please bear this in mind before entering and do not enter if you expect to finish the run with your clothing the same colour as you started!

Greendale Farm Shop has toilet facilities and a large restaurant area that can be accessed pre/post run.  It also has several ‘take away’ food options.  Bookings are strongly advised for those wanting a table (https://www.greendale.com/farm-shop-and-cafe/greendale-cafe-restaurant ).  Food and drink is not included in the price of the ticket.

A pre-run warm up to music will be provided to get you in the mood and ready to run.  The event is marshalled and fully insured with medical cover provided by Omega Medical. Several defibrillators will also be positioned around the course.

100% of the profit from the event will go towards fulfilling the Jay’s Aim charity objectives of reducing the number of young people that die of sudden cardiac arrests in SW England.  We would also be very grateful and would like to encourage all participants to set up a SportsGiving fundraising page which will appear as an option when you enter the event.

Colour Powder

The colour powder used is made from natural ingredients (mainly corn starch) and is environmentally friendly.   Competitors are asked to wear white where possible - powder may leave stains so please wear old clothes.  Sunglasses/glasses are strongly recommended to prevent powder going into eyes.  A small number of sunglasses will be available to buy on the day.

Medical Information

Competitors must be medically fit to enter the run.  Jay's Aim would encourage all competitors to attend a cardiac screening before entering this event.  More details about cardiac screenings can be found on our website: https://www.jaysaim.co.uk/screening

Registration Information

Registration is on the day of the event - you will not receive any information through the post.  Registration will be open between 8.30am and 10.00am at Greendale Farm Shop, Sidmouth Road, Exeter, EX5 2JU.  Competitors must register before competing to collect run number and complete ICE information on reverse of number.  YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REGISTER AFTER 10.00AM - NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR FAILURE TO REGISTER.

About The Charities

This fundraising page benefits the following charity:

Jay's AIM

It is estimated that 12 people below the age of 35 die every week in the UK from undiagnosed heart conditions, many of them with no prior symptoms.
Since 2018, Jay’s Aim has been on a mission to reduce this number; with the help of generous supporters like you, we’re starting to make a difference.
The purpose of Jay’s Aim is to prevent young people dying from undiagnosed heart conditions in South-West England. We believe that the most powerful tool at our disposal is increased public awareness, so we work hard to promote wider knowledge and understanding of little-known cardiac conditions and their symptoms.
