About The Charities
This fundraising page benefits the following charities:
Rowcroft Hospice supports adults living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon. We’re a charity and the vast majority of our funding comes from the incredible generosity of our local community.
We are committed to making every day the best day possible for people living with life-limiting illnesses across South Devon, and providing comfort and support to families coping with the hardest days.
Irrespective of diagnosis or circumstance we want to be there for you – our services are available to all those living with a life-limiting illness over 18 years old, and their families, completely free of charge.
Torbay and South Devon NHS Charity (registered charity number 1052232) is the official charity of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.
We are dedicated to improving health and wellbeing for the people of Torbay and South Devon.
By donating, remembering the charity in your will or by raising funds, you will be helping to fund equipment and projects that benefit current and future patients and their families, as well as supporting the wellbeing of our staff.
We offer activities to children (& their families) with a disability or impairment. We provide information, advice, emotional support & advocacy. We are here for the whole family (the child or young person, their siblings, & their parents /carers). We are here for families with new-born babies through to those with young adults (25 yrs).
Our vision is "a world where families & their children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, can reach their full potential & thrive".
Our mission is to support & empower families with children living with a disability. We do this by providing services & activities for the whole family so that everyone gets to live their best life.
We operate in and around Plymouth, South Hams, West Devon & East Cornwall.
We are not rigid in our criteria & we don’t put-up barriers that would prevent our families from being able to thrive & flourish.
With your support, our two helicopters and our critical care cars reach emergency scenes every year, allowing us to save hundreds of lives in Devon.
Our Vision
To find a cure for all types of brain tumours
Our Mission
To increase the UK investment in brain tumour research
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this!
We are the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.
In 2024, Argyle Community Trust are hoping to launch an innovative Cancer rehabilitation and exercise programme for men and women living with Cancer, set to launch from Brickfields Community Hub toward the end of the year. We're looking for local fundraisers to help us make this happen!
Argyle Community Trust is the leading sport-for-change charity in Devon and Cornwall. We are the official charity of Plymouth Argyle Football Club and utilise the prestige of football, the reach of the club and the power of the badge to inspire, engage and help people of all ages, genders, race, and socio-economic status. Our work focuses, primarily, on removing barriers to participation and offering opportunities that are accessible to all. We maintain a particular focus on disadvantaged and isolated communities, underrepresented groups and at-risk children, young people and adults and we use the power of the brand as a starting point for engagement with these communities.
This innovative new Cancer Rehabilitation project will enable us to use physical activity to help patients during their recovery in a physical, social, and emotional context. The programme will provide participants with the benefits of physical exercise, whilst also creating a consistent social environment where members can share stories and increase their confidence and self-esteem during a difficult period in their lives. Participants will be welcomed on to our project at any time throughout their cancer journey; from diagnosis, during treatment or recovery and through to remission, meaning they can benefit from the programme before, throughout and after treatment. The project is set up to help people make positive connections at a time where they are feeling lonely/scared.

The Torbay Community Development Trust launched in 2014. The need for a community development trust was first realised during a Force for Change event held at Parkfield Paignton in November 2012.
The event was organised by CVA Torbay, the Torbay Community Partnerships and Torbay Council and was attended by over 100 voluntary groups who gathered to look at ways to respond to and manage funding cuts.
In April 2013 the existing VCS infrastructure organisation, known as CVA (Community and Voluntary Action) Torbay ceased trading, in the same month it was agreed that community development activities would transfer out of the council.
Hugs from Henry provide support to families with childhood cancer, neuroblastoma and childhood cancer in Plymouth and Cornwall. This is done through group events, hospital visits and new to 2019 our first respite home. We have regular contact with families through emotional advice, visits and events.
Surf therapy has become an established form of therapeutic support for both mental and physical health. It is recognised by the NHS in the UK as an effective form of therapy for children and young people at risk of mental ill-health and is also used by the Police and Blue Light services as therapy for serving officers and professionals.
Surf therapy has been our core project for over a decade and lies at the heart of what we do.
Our surf therapy programmes offer young people aged 8 to 21 the opportunity to participate in a specialised surf therapy session once a week for six weeks. Each young person is paired with a volunteer surf mentor and receives one-to-one support appropriate to their needs for the duration of the course.
