Hello kind people!!!! We are Emily and Alex, and we’re excited to announce that we will be participating in this year’s Race2Paris with @edinburghrag in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s UK.
The rules are simple:
We have 48 hours to hitchhike the 683 miles between Edinburgh and Paris. We will be relying solely on the kindness of strangers to get us from A to B. There are a number of teams participating this year, and we will do whatever it takes to be the first to make it to the Eiffel Tower. The money we raise will go straight to Parkinsons UK - it will not help us get to Paris. We will not be able to use any of our own funds, nor will we be assisted by friends and family.
A brief backstory:
Both of our families have been deeply affected by this dreadful disease, so it is important to us to support a cause that will help further research into treatment for Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s UK are working tirelessly to find a cure, and every donation brings us one step closer to that goal, as well as giving hope to thousands of families.
We are incredibly grateful for any donations, and hope you will follow us along for what promises to be (at least for you) an entertaining challenge.
