Hi, we're Ant & Dan and we're aiming to hitchhike from Edinburgh to Paris in the EdinburghRAG Race 2 Paris this November to raise money for Trinity Hospice.
Trinity claim to care for 2,500 people throughout the final stages of their life each year. In reality, this number is much larger - larger than they will ever know as Trinity do not only provide excellent medical and psychological care for the patients occupying their beds, but also provide a unique sense of comfort and support for families and loved ones.
We have always felt indebted to them for the way in which they were able to support Dan's mum and everyone around her as she fought through the final stages of her life, and over the first weekend of November we will be attempting to complete the EdinburghRag race to Paris in order to raise funds for them.
The challenge involves trying to make it from Bristo Square in Edinburgh to Paris over two days without spending a penny on transport. We are already practising the art of sticking our thumbs out in the friendliest way possible to hitchhike, and would also offer a passionate thumbs up to anyone who chooses to donate whatever sum they can towards Trinity Hospice.

ESCA is led by a student fundraising group who go by the name Edinburgh RAG. They put on numerous events throughout the year including a hitch hike race to Paris and the Meadows Marathon raising money for a wide range of charities.
Race2Paris is a hitchhike race where teams race from Bristo Square, Edinburgh to Paris in the quickest time possible. It allows you to raise money for any charity you choose (with a UK charity no.) whilst having the time of your life!
