ESCA - Saheliya, When You Wish Upon A Star & The Rainforest Trust

ESCA is led by a student fundraising group who go by the name Edinburgh RAG. This year, ESCA are splitting the funds equally between their 3 chosen charities:

Saheliya

Saheliya is a specialist mental health and well-being support organisation for black,  minority ethnic, asylum seeker, refugee and migrant women and girls (12+) in the Edinburgh and Glasgow area.

When You Wish Upon A Star

When You Wish Upon a Star has a simple mission, to grant the Wishes of children living with a life threatening illness. Since 1990, they have proudly granted over 17,500 Wishes across the UK.

The Rainforest Trust

Rainforest Trust purchases and protects the most threatened tropical forests, saving endangered wildlife through partnerships and community engagement. Through these highly effective partnerships, they can ensure sustainable results necessary for the long-term protection of tropical ecosystems and the wildlife they hold.

Edinburgh Students' Charities Appeal - other charity

ESCA is led by a student fundraising group who go by the name Edinburgh RAG. They put on numerous events throughout the year including a hitch hike race to Paris and the Meadows Marathon raising money for a wide range of charities.

Unless the entrant has specified otherwise, all donations will be split between Edinburgh Students' Charity Appeal charities chosen for 2019/20.

The ESCA 2020/21 chosen charities are as follows:

1. Saheliya - a specialist mental health and well-being support organisation for black, minority ethnic, asylum seeker, refugee and migrant women and girls in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
2. When You Wish Upon a Star - a charity that grants the magical wishes of children aged 4-16 who live with a life-threatening illness in Scotland.
3. Rainforest Trust - a British charity working in partnership with Rainforest Trust in the U.S. to protect the world’s most threatened rainforests and other tropical ecosystems.
