The Sussex Beacon provides specialist care and support for people living with HIV. Their services promote independence and improve health and wellbeing, by providing inpatient and outpatient services, from their centre in Brighton. The Sussex Beacon is an important service. Even though better drugs have helped many people living with HIV to live unaffected by the virus, there are still those for whom every day is a challenge as a result of their HIV status. The Sussex Beacon is a caring place that many people see as essential to their wellbeing, and they cannot continue their work without the wonderful supporters who raise vital funds towards their important services. The Sussex Beacon Relay takes place at The Grand Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday 24 February 2019 on Madeira Drive, Brighton. Teams of 4 runners will complete the 13.1 mile course in a relay, each completing approximately 5k each by passing a baton between their teammates. Teams will battle it out to complete the course in the quickest time, with the top 3 teams winning an award and prize. This event however is first and foremost a fundraising event to raise vital funds to help people living with HIV. Every penny donated and raised will go towards helping the Sussex Beacon continue providing specialist care and support for people living with HIV.
